Nourish (TOWARD)

As we move into spring and summer, I know that many of you will head out on some amazing adventures.

Last week, my family and I joined the local high school choir on their trip to Disney. I was excited to be able to take my young boys to such a magical place, so I did a number of things to support my body to have the best trip possible.

Here are my Endo Travel Tips:

  1. Wear compression socks: They help prevent blood clots during long bouts of sitting (cars, buses, planes, etc.).
  2. Pack snacks with soluble fiber: Soluble fiber helps the liver clear hormones and supports healthy bowel function.
  3. Pack snacks with protein: Protein helps stabilize blood sugar.
  4. Stay hydrated: Travel environments and warmer climates increase your hydration needs.
  5. Don't overindulge in caffeine: Caffeine gives your liver more to do and beats up your bladder.
  6. Go for a walk at sunrise/sunset: This will help your body adjust to a new time zone and support bowel health.

Reduce (AWAY)

Getting 6 full days away from my office with my boys was such a gift. It reminded how powerful undivided attention is. Because I love what I do, I am absolutely guilty of allowing my work to bleed into my family time. So, this week, I am moving away from multi-tasking and back towards simple, clear boundaries of time.

Nourish Meditation Unstick Endo Newsletter Hi, Reader, Spring is truly beautiful here in Ohio. My beds are sprouting cute little green things, the trees are growing leaves, and the grass is getting lush. Unfortunately, this also means that my allergies are ramping up. If I don't, not only are my allergies terrible, all of my...
